CARD SHARE AND ART RING WINNER!!!

Hello, everyone and a very happy Good Friday to you!!!  Today is a great day!  All is as well in my world as it is right now, I love you all, and someone won my ring RAK!!!

On yesterday's post I promised a card share which I felt I outdid myself on.  With birthdays coming up for some very beautiful ladies I'll be making several of these beautiful cards.  Here's a close up of one (click on each picture for a closer view):

Here's another in a different color, and as you can see I've personalized them for the recipients -- right beneath the image:

So what did I tell you!  Did I do a great job or what!!!  I am very pleased with them!  Of course I'll have to make boxes for them because they are too 3-D for envies.  To put these cards together I used a Spellbinders embossing folder and die for the background and I found the image on the internet for the topper which I sized and printed out; used Stickles and liquid pearls, flowers; to make the lips look full I used Glossy Accents, and last I added lace and a bow for the finishing touch.  I think I'm finally beginning to really enjoy cardmaking more... now let's see how long my streak of cardmaking luck lasts -- lol!!!  Well, I hope you like my cards as much as I do!

Now for the winner of my ring RAK!!!

The winner is #24!!!  In the order listed on the giveaway post, (and who used the key word "word art") the winner is Norma, the Pink Bling Crafter!!!   Congratulations Norma!   I hope you enjoy your rings and just in case you need them I've provided some suggestions and/or helpful tips below to get you started at the end of this post. To receive them, please email me your snail mail address to audreyfrel@sbcglobal.net

If the rest of you are interested in how I made did these rings, please feel free to read on.  Here, again, are several I did and I'll show how I got these looks:

For the ring on the bottom right finger with the Miss Kitty image, you'd select an image or pattern you'd like.  Or, for other suggestions, you can use ribbon, washi-tape, material, music sheets, photos, etc.  As long as it can be cut to fit inside the window of the ring, you can use almost anything.  Here are examples a printed photo off my computer, a piece of ribbon and washi tape that I plan to use:

You'll need your image, acrylic paint, and Glossy Accents to adhere the image to the underside of the ring.  First cut  and size your image to fit into the window of the ring.  It'll look something like this:

After applying a thin layer of Glossy Accents to adhere your image (making sure to press and smooth out any air bubbles); allow image to dry completely.  Once dry carefully cut away any access image from around the outer edges of the ring and apply another coat of Glossy Accents to back of image to project the back of the image (particularly if it's paper).  Allow Glossy Accents to dry and, if you prefer, you can paint the entire inside of the ring with a complementary acrylic paint.  Or you can leave the band clear -- it's your choice, your design it!

To get a glittery look as shown for the rings on the top left first and second fingers of the picture, again apply a thin layer of Glossy Accents and using your thumb and forefinger sprinkle with a fine glitter; allow to dry thoroughly.  Once dry apply a coat of acrylic paint in a complementary color and allow to dry.

For the last look on the first finger on the right top side of the picture using a toothpick draw a design into the window of the ring with acrylic paint and allow to dry.  Once dry, paint the inside of the ring (covering the design) with a complementary color of paint.

As a note, I ran into some Google videos where nail polishes were used to paint the rings -- I've gotta try this too!  In the meantime, check that out, but have fun and use your own imagination!!!

I hope I made everything clear.  If not, let me know and I'll try to be more detailed.

Thanks everyone for stopping by, have a great day and I'll be back as soon as I can...

I'll be seeing you!

ART RING GIVEAWAY ENDS AT MIDNIGHT!

Hello family-friends!  I do hope all's well in blogland!

I've been pretty busy these days; seems like family issues just don't want to die down as quickly as I'd like them to.  However, I haven't forgotten about you and/or the giveaway of the clear acrylic art rings!!!  So, if you haven't already posted to the giveway blog-post, please do so today as you only have until midnight tonight -- I'll post the winner tomorrow afternoon.  Good luck!!!  I'll also provide some suggestions on how to embellish your rings once you receive them -- and I have a card share I think you'll really like.  If I must say so myself, I think I pretty much outdid myself on this card!!!  So I hope to see you all tomorrow!

Also, if I didn't welcome any new followers I'd like to do so now; happy to have you.  In addition I am currently 26 followers away from 500!!!  Within the next couple of days I'll have a post announcing a giveaway for when I reach 500 followers.  Please look forward to that as I think  have a really nice RAK.

Again, I hate to keep apologizing for not being available here on more of a daily basis, but my immediate family is in need and I have to do what I can.  I hope you know that you are always in my thoughts and prayers, and that I really do work at getting to you all when I can -- as soon as I can.  I've appreciated your patience and hope you continue to be patient with me a bit longer.

Hugs, and...

I'll be seeing you!

ART RINGS AND A GIVE-A-WAY!

Hello, family-friends!!!  Hope all is well!

Did you think I went awol again?!!!  LOL!  In case you were wondering, other than recovering from a virus hubby passed to me, all's well.  We believe Len picked up the virus while at the hospital for a doctor's appointment because he came down with the symptoms the very night of his appointment and I had it by the following night -- omg, it was a nasty one too. Of course, mine lasted a few days longer than his... lol!   Anyway, after struggling to tend to the other while recuperating, I've since had to disinfect everything, run several errands, and catch up on other household chores which I'd gotten behind on.  Most of you know I am a caregiver for my aunt so as I was behind both here -- and there -- I dove in to get it all done so now I can get back to crafting and blogging.  So, that was the cause of my delay.  The down-side is that I'm now behind here too, so time for me to get busy...

My share with you today are some rings I made.  I found these lear blank acrylic DIY art rings and decided I'd play around with them yesterday:

The pictures of these rings were so difficult to get; I don't know if it was the glitter paper on the holder or the lighting but I really had to re-take lots of shots to get decent pictures. They are so much prettier than the picture reflects.  Here're my rings:

Here's a close-up; hopefully, you can see them a bit better:

These were such fun to do and because I've quite a few of them, I'll be making more for family, friends, and sharing with you!!!  I'll be giving one of each size 6, 7, and 8 to you!!!  Right, 3 rings for you to play with! If you're interested all you need to do is leave the hyphenated words "word art" in your comment and on Thursday, March 29, using Random.com I'll select as winner.  How fun to see what you'd do with them!  (Giveaway is open to everyone).

Well I'm off to do more craft fun-stuff and some catching up, so hugs to you and...

I'll be seeing you!

AN EASTER DELIGHT!

Happy Friday, family-friends!  I'm thinking it's Friday so everyone is happily crafting for the weekend... lol!  I do pray all's well!

I got a very pleasant surprise this week when I found out my wedding box and card was the winner over at the Decorate to Celebrate wedding challenge.  What a wonderful surprise, and I can't wait to receive my mini album made by the fabulous Rhonda of Scrap Happens.

Today's share is an Easter card I made.  This is another card I enjoyed doing and I really like!!!  The front of the card I think is so elegant with the little pom-pom trim:

But, it was the inside I had the most fun with:

The label is to write/add a short sentiment on or to just sign the card, and the bunny pocket I actually made to  hold one of those little mini chocolates; however, as I didn't have any I just added these lollipops and realized they kind of look like eggs... lol!!!  Here's a close-up of the pocket:

I used fabric paint to give him texture and pink Liquid Pearls for his eye; I used the same ribbon and bead pearl element as used on the front of the card on the ribbon, and following the theme with the pom-poms by adding one for his little tail.  The word "hello" and the little bunnies on the label as well as the pocket bunny were cut on the eCraft (I finally figured out the settings for my most used scrap paper... lol!)

Well, I'm off again!  Love you all and I'll be back soon, so...

Thanks for stopping by and, of course, I'll be seeing you!

Happy Friday, family!!!  Wow, have I been busy and loving it!!!

I've gotten around to and enjoyed visiting so many of you but I'm still travelling.  It's been a hoot and the best time I've had in a while just being able to get back to what I love doing.

Today, I have 2 cards to share!!!  Believe it or not, I actually love these!!!  I used the same Cheery Lynn die cut for both card backgrounds and I absolutely love-love-love this die!!!  Can you believe it... I really finally love a card that I, myself, made?!!!  LOL!

The first is a sympathy card with a lace border, added a ribbon with gold swirls, and heat embossed the sentiment in gold and popped gold cardstock behind the die-cut:

This second card uses the Cherry Lynn and Spellbinders die cuts:

Both were quick cards to do and the ebosser makes die-cutting a breeze.  Although they're not my favorite, I've been doing cards because I wanted quick projects to help me jump back into the "groove" of crafting again... lol!!!  Now I think I'm ready to put more time into a project -- feeling a bit "frisky" now... lol!

Well, I won't take up anymore of the start of your weekend... get to craftin'!!!  And, thanks for stopping by; hope you like my cards!

Hugs, love, and...

I'll be seeing you!
