KITCHEN DRAWER MINI COOKBOOK PROJECT AND A BLOG HOP WINNER!!!

Happy Monday, everyone!!!  I sincerely hope you all had a wonderful and creative weekend!  I finally finished cutting all those little Mickey Mouse treat boxes for my niece, and I even cut out an addition 11 of the turkey treat boxes.  I have to admit though that as much fun as they were to put together, I don't care if I ever cut another pattern/template again for a very, very long time!!!  LOL!!!  I don't even want to look at a pair of scissors right now!  HA!

To my new followers, thank you so much for deciding to join my family and I look forward to our visits together!  I'll be around to see you soon!

Before I announce the winner of the "Gobble Til You Wobble" blog hop prize,  a wonderful friend sent me the most adorable little silverware set stamp that I wanted.  I know this cute stamp will get a lot of use, and the first project I've used it for is this little mini cookbook which you can keep in a kitchen drawer:

When you unfold the top cover, it looks like this:

When you unfold the bottom cover it lays flat so this is what you'll have:

Or, if you fold back the top cover, the book will stand alone on a table or counter top like this:

Either laying flat or in it's standing position you can flip thru the recipe cards like this:

I'd like to say thanks again to my friend for this wonderful little stamp!!!  And..., SURPRISE!!!  If you like this little mini cookbook, it's a giveaway!!!  To be eligible for it, just leave me one of your wonderful comments on this post letting me know you'd like to have it!  No, you do not need to be a follower to win!  I will announce the winner on Saturday, November 26.  The winner will be selected by Random.org. and you will have 3 days to claim it.  (Sorry, will only mail within U.S.)

Now for the blog winner!!!  Random.org. selected number "19":

LET THE MUSIC PLAY ON AND ON...

Hello, everyone and happy Tuesday!

Well, the hubby's and my anniversary is Thursday and I was out yesterday and today frantically trying to "spot" something he might like for a gift.  I wasn't able to find anything and I'm at a total lost.  I've got one last chance so I'm going out and try again tomorrow -- I hope I don't have to pick up something just for the sake of getting something.

Anyway, I did make him a complementary gift to go along with whatever it is I can find for him.  This little gift came to mind when I went down into his "man cave" and he was going through an old collection of 45's, 33's and LP's, and playing them on his record player:

It's a record player box and the inside holds a 45 record adapter keychain.  My hubby loves old songs and I think he'll love this.  I got the images for the record and the adapter off the internet and sized, printed, and cut them out.  I added yellow stickles to both sides of the adapter and covered it with resin; added a hole and then pu on the keychain.

To get the 3-D raised effect on the adapter on the record on the record player, I added white puffy paint to it.   Here's a close-up (sorry it came out a a bit blurry):

My hubby loves music -- all kinds of music -- and has quite an extensive collection of "oldies".  Since the day were were married I don't think he has ever let a day go by without playing music, so for all the years I'm calling this little gift "let the music play on and on".

Isn't this project cute?!!!

Well, wish me luck tomorrow; I've got to find something and it's got to be special!

Hugs everyone, and...

I'll be seeing you!

HELLO!!!

Hello, everyone!  And here we are at another "hump" day -- which I hope we'll all get over smoothly!

Unfortunately, I cannot present and share with you the project I intended.  Yesterday a friend came over with her 1-1/2 year old grandson and for that one split second that we got carried away on a high-topic conversation, and where our focus was not on the baby, was just enough time and opportunity for him to get  into my craftroom and destroy my project.  It was so funny to see the expression on his little face because he didn't know he'd done something he shouldn't have, his expression was one of pure bliss!!!  LOL!  He had so much fun dismantling my project -- thank God it was only paper!!!  His grandmother was soooo upset but I felt it was partially my fault too because we both thought he was playing with Buster until we  realized it was too quiet!  If you have children you know what that means!!!  I thought it was just too hysterical -- he was soooo cute standing there with that big beautiful grin and as if proudly saying "lookie, lookie what I did"!!!  LOL!  Although my friend left upset and embarrassed, it made my day!  He was such a delight!  It brought back some fond memories of similar things my son did when he was small. I understand how she feels but how many parents/grandparents haven't had these moments!  And they become so precious!  I didn't think about it at the time, but I wish now I'd grabbed my camera and taken his picture!

Anyway, I did want to share something with you today (I'll remake the damaged project later), so I put together this quick and easy notepad with a matching box.  It isn't much but I think it's pretty:

Once I decide who this will be going to, I'll tuck their initials in the bookplate.  The box closure is just  heavy-wieght cardstock that I hand cut, covered with Stickles, and tucked into the gem ribbon to close/secure.  This little project also gave me the opportunity to use that little resin Santa poker chip I shared with you earlier.  I'm still not quite certain it's complete because the more I look at it, the more it looks like it needs something else -- I just don't know what -- but at the moment I like it and I'm going to consider it done!

So, now that I've dropped in to let you all know I'm thinking of you, I'm off to other projects; including the one I have to replace!  LOL!  So, I'll be seeing you!

"FLOATING HEARTS" NOTEPAD AND PENCIL HOLDERS GIFT SET!

Good evening, all!

I'm back, but disappointed to not have the project I'd hoped to have for you.  For the life of me, I can't get that cut.file right and I know I'm close (but no cigar!), and I feel it's some silly little thing I'm overlooking.  Anyway, in lieu of not having a project to share with you at all today, I pushed myself away from that file --again--and made something else to share with you as I said I would.   It's not a project I would have liked for you but I did put this together with the hope that you'd like it.  I had to do it rather quickly too in order have it ready to present today .  I completed cutting it a couple of hours ago but I did want to embellish it a bit instead of just putting it out looking plain and, as you know, it also takes almost forever for Stickles to dry.  So, here I am posting a bit later than I expected.

It is a simple notepad and pencil holders gift set that I think I want to call "Floating Hearts" and I really hope you like it:

Although I still have not updated my files on 4Shared, I did add the cut.file for this (using the George cart), and you can find it at the bottom of this post.  I will make the cut.file available in other carts and add them also to 4Shared.  Once I've completed updating all my 4Shared files, I'll let you know and you'll be able to access/download this as well as any others I haven't gotten to yet.  You'll be able to select what you'd like from my sidebar selection once I'm done.

I apologize for how long it's taking me but I've had so many interruptions and distractions lately, so please just bear with me.

NOTE:
If you download this file, please use a heavy weight cardstock to cut it.  My first cut was with a lightweight cardstock, and neither the note holder tray or the pencil cup held up.

Until...

I'll be seeing you!

"TAKE NOTE" Notepad Set with Calendar

Good Sunday, my friends! I hope you're having a beautiful day!

I must say I had an interesting day yesterday.  I hate to admit it but I was more tired and frustrated than I wanted to own up to and I ended up suffering the consequences.  Today, however, is a brand new day and, although I'm off to a late start, I feel great.

The project Iwanted to post for you (finally!) is one that I made for the wall in my kitchen next to the telephone.  I love the colors and they really do blend in well in my kitchen, but I think I could have used a more subtle color paper for the words "Take Note".  I may have went overboard with the paper there.  Overall, I like how it came out and  I will use it to jot grocery items I may need, telephone numbers, notes, etc.  And, if I need to remember a certain event date, I added a little calendar for myself.  You can too!

How I constructed it:

The carts I used are George (pad/pen holders), Storybook (embellishment), and Plantin (words, "Take Note").  I used chipboard to cut the back and embellishment because they need to be sturdy.  I glued across the top of the notepad itself with a hot glue gun to hold the pages together on the notepad and calendar.  I used velcro on the calendar so it can be replaced yearly, and the notepad can be removed from under the flap so that it can be easily used and/or replaced.

Of course, I'll be hanging it; but, you can also attach a magnet and use on the fridge or let it stand -- your choice!

Here's a picture with the notepad removed:

I hope you like it!

I'll be seeing you!
