I noticed I have another new follower and would like to welcome her aboard!!! I hope you enjoy visiting, come often; and, of course, if I can find you, I'll be around to check on you too!!!
Wow! The weather here today is great!!! After all the rain, it's finally cooled down; of course, the predicted temps for tomorrow is back to to 90+ degrees again, but I'm going to enjoy today! (Who I am kidding, I make the most of every day as often as I can -- LOL!)
And..., I 'm really excited with all the wonderful things ahead of me: my debut as a Sassy Designer where I'll be debutting on August 5; I'll be leaving out for the CHA 2010 Craft Show the end of this week -- YEAH!!!; and soon after the DH and I will be heading out for a much needed vacation break! (Oh-oh! I'll probably get behind even more; but..., I promise I'll catch up!)
Today I have an interesting little project to share. I was in a neighborhood Dollar Store yesterday and ran across some Poker Chips. I don't know why at the time they caught my interest, but some little "bug" in my ear told me I could do something crafty with them, so I bought them. Yep, plain ole poker chips ( I don't even play poker):
Needless to say, I'm quite pleased because I can now think of about a zillion more things I can do with them and the list is endless -- keychains, embellies, jewelry and more!!! A couple of these may end up hanging on a few of my purses!!!
Just think poker chips, small scraps of paper, paint, Stickles, Glimmer Mist, Crystal Lacquer, embellishments, or anything else you can grab within reach, and your imagination!!!
As an aside, my first attempt was to use embossing powder on the chips, but the heat gun melts the chips so you may want to avoid doing that.
Well, that's it for now and I hope you like my project; love you all...
I'll be seeing you!

Oh wow. Love what you did with the poker chips. Can't wait to see a tutorial from you on this. Have fun at CHA. Take pics so we can see all the goodies there.
I love your attitude sweetie! I try very hard to keep the positive thoughts for each and every day...some people make it harder.
Those poker chips are stinkin cute and I instantly thought purse decor also. Thanks for the hint about not heating, I probably would have attempted without a thought.
I love to alter items all the time.
These are gorgeous! Thanks for the heat gun tip =}
How did you poke the hole? I am hoping you used a crop-a-dile since I have one already!
Hugs!!
Hi, all!!! And thanks so much for your comments!
Lori, yes, I did use the crop-a-dile. Made it easy-peezy to put the hole in them; went through the chips like "butta" -- LOL!
Dawn, if's there anyway you can help it or get around it, don't let nobody steal your joy!!! I get up every morning, after saying thanks for letting me "wake" up, reminding myself this is something I just won't allow -- life's too short as it is, my friend. My DH tells me everyday is Christmas and I try hard to live each day like that's just was it is!
Audrey, I love these!! They are so great and you can do so many different ones! I may have to look for these poker chips, such a great idea. Have fun at CHA, I know you will!
SUCH a cute idea!
Great idea, and to think I through one out last week. These are great.
I can't wait to get some!!!!! You are sooooo clever... and thank you for sharing this brilliant idea! Love it. Have fun at CHA and make sure you take tons of pictures.
Love them !! Please try linking again - my project is there. It's after the ruffled purse little bag. Now another thing to add to my to do list - right next to the washer necklaces, the glass charms and more bottle cap creations!
Audrey...my dear...you are unbelievable...even from poker chips you create something beautiful.
TFS!
Cool, cool, cool! You are very inspiring!
Those are awesome, Audrey!
These came out really nice. My favorite is the musical one. You can't even tell this was a poker chip. Hugs!
Wow Audrey these are super cute cute cute!!!
Hi Audrey! These are amazing! How clever! I was going to ask the same thing about how you punched the holes then I saw you used the Crop O Dile. Isn't that a great tool! Cuts through almost anything! Congrats on being a Sassy Designer! That is so exciting. Have a super time at the CHA. I can't wait to see pics! Hugs!!!
