GOOD NEWS!

Happy Sunday, family!!!  Hope all's well!

I am not a person who likes to dwell on sad or depressing things, I love happiness and happy times!  Although sad, this does makes me very happy and fills me with so much pride.  My brother wasn't able to discuss the events of my nephew during the time of preparation; however, last night I called him to check in.  He told me some things that he couldn't bring himself to deal with earlier that now I believe he's beginning to reconsider, feel better about, and is making him feel proud.  My nephew did not smoke or drink, and other than the heart attack was a healthy 34 year old young man.  My brother related to me that my nephew's organs went toward saving 63 lives, his vitals to save about 29, and 80% of his tissue and bones will go toward saving the lives of many others.  I am so very proud of him for wanting todo this.  I'm glad too my brother is gradually accepting the wonderful contribution his son has made.  Maybe it was sooner than my nephew had expected, but he did what he wanted to do and it's a good thing!  Just thought I'd share!

More good news!  I won the Cuttlebug Spot "Inspired By An Advertisement" Challenge for the week of January 25.  Here again is the winning card:

Finally, I like to thank my sweet and wonderful friend Sandy for passing on to me the "My Blog has Attitude" Blog Award:

My Blog Has Attitude

As this is another award I've previously received, I will forego passing it on but will add Sandy's name to it on my sidebar.  Thanks, again, Sandy!  I always appreciate when my family considers me with any act of kindness.

Well, I'll be back with another project to share in a little while!

I'll be seeing you!

Organ donation is a such a wonderful and selfless thing. Isn't it overwhelming when you find out how many lives are touched by one single person?? It always just amazes me! I know it doesn't make your heart hurt any less for the loss of your loved one, but I completely understand the proudness of knowing that he made a difference in so many others. {{{HUGS}}} to you!

Your card is beautiful! Congratulations!!!

Oh I am so glad to hear that your brother is feeling better about his son donating his organs.. I am sure it was a shock at first, but how awesome that he has saved some many other lives.. he should be very proud of his son.

The link doesn't work, but I am assuming that that 'Sandy' is me (there are so many Sandy's lol)... and if it is me, even if it isn't me, you are more than welcome.. you are one very special lady that thinks of others so much. I have been so blessed by your friendship.

I was so excited to finally have a special project to use the music note. I think they look so awesome on Brent's banner.

hugs Sandy

Although his life was cut short, your Nephews selfless act has allowed others to live on a little longer. That is probably the best gift anyone can ever give. Losing him won't stop hurting, but knowing what he has done should make things a little better. Congrats on winning the challenge. :)

Thank you for being so open and honest about your feelings . Organ donation is so wonderful. I have been praying for your brother & family would learn to appreciate your nephews huge gifts to others. May others be touched by his generosity. Again I am so sorry for all of your loss. Having to say goodbuy suddenly to someone so young is always hard. Hugs!

Congrats on your award!

My officemate is a double transplant recipent. She got diabetes from being over prescribed cold medicine as a child. In her twenties, her kidneys shut down. She was on dialysis for years.

I know what happened to her was unpreventable, I have never met someone so healthy. She takes olive oil by the spoonful in the morning so she can get the exact amount of fat she needs in a day. Everything else she eats is heart healthy. You will not catch her snacking on cheezits or 100 calorie snacks...it's fruit and veggies for her. Without her transplant, she wouldn't be here, even though she did everything she could to prevent this happening.

Thank you for the reminder, hubby and I just realized we need to update our info to become donors too.

Still praying for peace for your family. Glad your brother was finally able to share this with you.

No one should ever loose a child. It has to be the worst feeling a person could ever experience.

Organ donation is one of the most loving, selfless things a person can do. Your nephew lives on because of his decision and so do so many others. Your family deserves to be proud, even your sadness. Love to you all. (and congrats on the TCS win!) xxD

I know it is difficult for some to come to grips with the initial "concept" of organ donation for surviving family members. I'm so glad that your brother is coming around and he definitely should be proud of his selfless son. He did a marvelous thing in death by helping give life and better standards of living to so many others. God love him. Congrats on your win! Best, Curt

So young to have a fatal heart attack! Being there to support my nephews (grown up nephews)was a good thing, but I cannot even begin to feel how difficult it would be to try to comfort someone close who has lost a child, even if they are grown! So glad that he was able to touch so many others lives.

On a happier note, Congrats! Excellent job!
