TREASURE PROJECT 4: The Buttons, Again!!!

Okay, everyone, I'm back with another project using the buttons!

As much as I tried and wanted to yesterday, I just couldn't get into my crafting (or anything for that matter) but I really did want to and so I made an attempt!  Unfortunately, I don't think my project came out anything like I'd planned and I also think it looks unfinished; maybe you can help me.  Here's the project:

My intent was to design a Christmas card ornament that could be hung from a tree or as a Christmas decoration.  Given the mood I was in, I'm surprised I even got this far...

Again, I used one of the buttons from my treasures and this time I used an image of a poinsetta in the center and filled it with resin that I'd mixed glitter into.  (It's difficult to see the poinsetta in the button because the glitter makes it look a bit cloudy in the picture.)  I then made a bow of gold mesh ribbon, centered the button on the bow, and added a gold cord for the hanger.  I added matching rub-on poinsetta's on the bottom sides of the card and covered them with Glossy Accents to give them some dimension, and finished the card off with the words and star accent rub-ons.  I don't recall the name of the paper but I do know it was from a paper pack from Big Lots.

In my thoughts this was to be a finished card but it's missing something; I'm just not feeling whatever the problem is with this card project so please provide me your suggestions!

I'll be seeing you!

I think it is adorable and only would suggest a thin ribbon tail maybe that would look nice hanging.

What a cute button & bow ornament!!

While the card is cute as is, it is not your usual style (kind of plain but still cute). I would have added a piece of red cardstock as a mat behind the polka-dot paper. Since the paper is already attached, I would either take a red marker and outline the polka-dot paper, or ink the edges of the card with red ink.

I think it has to do with there being an even number of elements. Try adding one more so that there would be an odd number. Thanks for my gift. I thanked you publicly on my blog. I hope you are feeling better soon!

Audrey, this is gorgeous. I love the bow and I did a zoom and you can see the poinsettia, which is quite lovely - great job! I really wouldn't change a thing. Sometimes we add so much to a project, we can't see the simple beauty laying there. This ornament would be gorgeous on anyone's tree and the card would still be lovely to display. Love it!

I really love your card and that bow is so cute, what a great idea with the ornament. I think a little color with the marker is a splendid idea.

I think it's beautiful the way it is... but Lori's suggestion might give it a little pop.

Hi Audrey your card is beautiful. I think its beautiful just the way it is. I think the beautiful bow speaks for itself - doesn't need anything else - That is just my opinion.

It's lovely. I don't think you need to add anything to it, but if you really want to you could stitch around the edges with some green embroidery floss or something. I wouldn't do anything too drastic to take away from the gorgeous bow :)
