LET THE MUSIC PLAY ON AND ON...

Hello, everyone and happy Tuesday!

Well, the hubby's and my anniversary is Thursday and I was out yesterday and today frantically trying to "spot" something he might like for a gift.  I wasn't able to find anything and I'm at a total lost.  I've got one last chance so I'm going out and try again tomorrow -- I hope I don't have to pick up something just for the sake of getting something.

Anyway, I did make him a complementary gift to go along with whatever it is I can find for him.  This little gift came to mind when I went down into his "man cave" and he was going through an old collection of 45's, 33's and LP's, and playing them on his record player:

It's a record player box and the inside holds a 45 record adapter keychain.  My hubby loves old songs and I think he'll love this.  I got the images for the record and the adapter off the internet and sized, printed, and cut them out.  I added yellow stickles to both sides of the adapter and covered it with resin; added a hole and then pu on the keychain.

To get the 3-D raised effect on the adapter on the record on the record player, I added white puffy paint to it.   Here's a close-up (sorry it came out a a bit blurry):

My hubby loves music -- all kinds of music -- and has quite an extensive collection of "oldies".  Since the day were were married I don't think he has ever let a day go by without playing music, so for all the years I'm calling this little gift "let the music play on and on".

Isn't this project cute?!!!

Well, wish me luck tomorrow; I've got to find something and it's got to be special!

Hugs everyone, and...

I'll be seeing you!

This is awesome Audrey! I'm sure he'll just love it. While you're gift shopping does he need something for the new car? I was going to suggest a new key ring but I guess you've got that covered ( sometimes I just crack myself up, lol) Anyways I hope you have a wonderful anniversary and I know you'll find the right gift for him. Hugs, Mary

Oh you are running out of time.. i pray that you find just the right present tomorrow.. but he is going to love this, as always you are so darn creative. Where you get your amazing ideas is beyond me. Well my friend, i am fixing to go take my shower.. just got home from Bible study.. still not feeling very perky.. but I did get both the bathrooms cleaned today. Have some pants that Alex needs fixing, hoping I can finally get those done and work a little on his birthday banner... haven't been crafting at all.. just so tired. Can't wait to see what dh gets you for your anniversary tomorrow and where he takes you... hugs

Absolutely adorable! I just love it as will he! Happy Anniversary. I find the longer I am married the hardier it is to get the "right" anniversary gift. Do you have an old record store in your neighborhood? Maybe you can get him a gift card (I know not personal, but) then he can do down there at his leisure and enjoy himself looking through old records!!

Good luck with your shopping!!

Audrey, Hi! This is just amazing to me. I thought the box was a real record player. I know your hubby is going to flip over it. For those of us who grew up with this way of listening to music, it is hard to give it up. I still have all of my 45s and 33s and a record player. There is nothing like listening to vinyl.

I still cannot believe how real this looks. I know that keychain is going to be very special to him.

Hugs to Buster from Jack and Magnolia.
