A RECYCLED WOODEN BOX

Happy Saturday, everyone!!!  I truly hope you're all enjoying a great holiday weekend!!!

We are under a severe weather threat here right now and it's becoming increasingly dark outside, so I'm going to make this as quick as possible!

I purchased a plain little wooden box at a Michael's sale for 50 cents and here is how it looks now:

Close up of the top:

The front of the box:

And I felt I had to do something to the inside:

The bird on the top of the box I made with melted wax I poured into a mold and colored using Luster Rub-On colors after it solidified; I colored the box  by rubbing assorted shades of Viva Inka-Gold colors on it using my fingers, and I think they blended beautifully; the words are computer generated.  I haven't a clue what I'll be using it for but, assuredly, when an occassion comes up, it'll be out of here... LOL!

Well, there goes another TV announcement saying to relocate to the lowest exteriors of our homes for our protection, and I'm hearing raindrops now hitting my window -- and thunder, so I've got to go!!!  (God is trying to tell us something!!!)  Depending on the weather, I'll try to get back later to catch up on some visiting!!!

Oh!!!  Don't forget tomorrow, I'll be announcing the winner of my blog candy from McVic's birthday hop, and I'll have another small giveaway for you!!!

Hope you like my project for today...

I'll be seeing you!

Isn't it a great feeling when you take a plain item and can transform into a beautiful item? Love that you used so many fun goodies on this...even the gold nails are worth it.
The one I showed last week is PROUDLY displayed at a friends house like it was a shine.
Thanks for sharing and stay safe

I adore your box Audrey! It is a wow piece!
What a showstopper!!!
Thanks for your lovely comments.
Yes, I have been told I am an enabler...sorry about that. I really think our love of this hobby just puts me in that precarious position. Or at least that is what I keep telling myself.
At least everybody knows what to get us for holidays, birthdays & special occasions, right?
There I go justifying it again. I don't always have all the tools or finds either. I just happen to seek them out & find them.
Hope you stay safe. Take care my friend.
Hugs,
Sonia

Beautiful. I can't believe you turned a 50 cent box in to a work of art...well actually I can, you always work your magic on every project. It looks awesome!!!

Glad to see you are taking precautions. I drive by neighbors dailey that either lost their home or had severe damage due to the tornadoes in April. On that day, my 8 yr old son put a post it note in our safe zone that read, "God is in Control". It gave me peace as we listened to a tornado go over our house that day. Take care and always be alert!!!
