THE "JACK POT SLOT" BOX

Good Easter Saturday!!!  I hope all's well and this Easter weekend is colorful and gay!!!

Unbelievably I have reached 15,000 hits, so in a couple of days I'll be posting a little RAK -- look out for it!!!

Now I have a little item I made that I think you'll all get a bit of a kick out -- but first, how it came about.  I was in my hubby's "man cave" -- the basement -- waiting for some laundry to dry.  While sitting there, I looked around laughing at all the toys he has accumulated; a big screen tv's, bar tv, exercise room tv, stereo equipment, electronic exercise equipment, wii, and then my eyes stopped searching further and my brain started ticking.  This is what I was looking at:

It was the hubby's slot machine -- a BOX!!!  So I ran upstairs, grabbed my camera, ran back downstairs, moved the chair from in front of the machine and snapped a picture.  With my mind still telling me "a box", I ran back upstairs, sat down at my cricut and here's what I came up with:

It's a slot machine box!!!  I cut out the box using George, and I search Google for a picture of a slot machine that I cut into layers and decoupaged on the front of the box to give it some dimension.  Here is the box open:

I used Stickles for the simulated lights and 3D Crystal Lacquer for the windows on the slot machine.

Is this pretty cool or what?!!!  I am pretty excited about it.  I know a few people who love to play slot machines and I'm thinking this would make a great birthday gift to them!  Of course I won't put "Cute and Some" on their box, but I'm thinking it'll be pretty clever to use their name.

.Unfortunately, I forgot all about my clothes in dryer until this morning, and they had cooled off and wrinkled by the time I did think about them -- hate wrinkles!!!  So, I popped them back in the washer on the last rinse cycle and re-dried them -- gone were the wrinkles!!!  LOL!!!

I hope you like the box.  I've included a cut.file and the picture of the slot machine I Googled for you to use to make your own.

I'll be seeing you!

Hi Audrey, boy I've been a slacker lately on commenting on the blogs. I do always check them but haven't had the time to comment on any or I would never get any sleep. LOL I had to comment on this tho, I may have to use your idea for a card for my hubbie. We used to live in Las Vegas for 14 yrs and my DH Loved the slot machines (sometimes to much) LOL. What a cute idea and I know he would get a kick out of it. Another great idea Audrey, as always you rock! Thanks for sharing and I'll try and leave more comments, I know I love when you stop by my place and always leave such nice comments. Thank You, Theresa

Love it! I've been wanting to make a slot machine actually, but trying to figure out how to do it with all stamps and Cricut cuts. Yours with the printed image looks great!

Somehow I missed this post. Glad I came back to you blog for a look around.

I need this cut!!! Why?? My mom was a big right armed bandit player ... well not that big.... but she enjoyed it. Since her eyesight has failed her, we've not gone much to the casino. She'll be 92 next month and I think I will make one just for her.

Thanks for sharing.
