Hi, again. I'm back with a little project to share!
I'm certain most of you have probably seen this before, it's been around on several different blogs I've hopped around to visit. However, although I'd seen it, there were never any instructions and/or patterns to do it. What caught my attention is that one blogger had written it was hand-assembled from one piece of paper and required no gluing, and that once assembled it stood up on its own. Well, anything like this piques my interests, so I attempted to make it. I started out using 8-1/2 sheets of paper and could not get it!!! Eventually I just gave up for a while! Coming back to it with a vivid picture in my head, I went back to it again with some success; but it still wasn't quite right. Eventually, I did get it but it was waaaayyyy to small, so I tried a 12"x12" sheet of paper and after some folding and refolding it came out perfect!
The construction is all in the way it's folded, and after ruining many, many, many, sheets of paper I came up --finally -- with this cute little card box and it's embarassing now all I went through and how easy it really is to fold and put together. I mean eezy-peezy easy!!!
This is the front of the box and the pocket holds 5-6 cards comfortably ( as long as there are no heavy embellies):
Turn the box around to the back and there's another pocket to hold the envelopes:
And there's room for you can tuck several ink pens at the bottom on the inside:
This project was also a stamping lesson for me too because I've never been very good at stamping images, so if you see my flaws and misses, please overlook them. I tried to cover them up but didn't manage that too very well either.
I know many of you have techniques for making your flowers, I don't. I kind of just make my flowers as I see them in my head. I cut up the material (if it's paper I scrunch it up first), cut out the shape I think I'd like, shape them and put them together. I've often used a fabric stiffener to shape flowers made of materials, but I'm really going to have to try the new candle burning method. It looks so fun and easy! On my paper flowers here, I used black colored Stickles to outline some veiny designs on the petals of the flowers. You might be able to see them if you click on the picture to zoom in.
I think I'll do a tutorial of how this card box is folded; that is, if you'd like for me too and haven't already done it. Let me know!
Hope you like it!!!

Wow Audrey! That is sooooo pretty! I love the colors. It does not look simple to me!!! Would love to see how you folded the paper. By-the-way... I noticed you commented on my blog and was wondering if we are OK. We are better than we have been in a year and one-half :) We have been busy due to our granddaughter graduating and attending lots of functions. Summer seems to be our busy time here. Love and hugs!!! Life if Good - God is Better!!!

Stunning! What a wonderful way to present a "set" of cards. I need "easy" so I look forward to your tutorial. :)
I love everything about this. The paper is so chic, the flowers, pearl, ribbon add so much to this project...Congrats on figuring this out...I wouldn't be able to that.
