Of course, I love to visit and be inspired also. So if I don't already drop in on you, please let me know where I can find you and I'll hop on over to see what you're doing or to just say "hi".

Before you go, I would love it if you'd please leave me a comment letting me know you dropped in! Actually, I'd just love to hear from you -- comments, opinions, or questions you'd like me to answer.

In the meantime, relax and make yourselves at home... you're family here!!!

MY FIRST ORGANZA FLOWERS!!!

Happy Thursday afternoon!  I hope all is well with everyone and that you've had, at least, a decent week; if not a wonderful one.

I know lately I haven't been sharing nearly as many projects with you as I had been, however, with the weather getting nicer, we've had more and more expected (and unexpected) company dropping in.  Also, the hubby and I have been getting out doing things in the warmer weather that the colder weather prevented us from doing.  Therefore, I just haven't been tied down at home doing as much crafting.  However, I miss it and do plan on putting extra time away to get busy!  Also, I haven't forgotten that tutorial for you on the note card holder, so that's one of the first things I'll be doing.  I should have it ready for you right after this weekend's Showcase #10 Awardee Showcase.

As I've managed to get in a little blog-hopping in my few minutes of spare time, I've been running across a lot of the organza flowers made using the candle technique.  Well, with it seemingly becoming a rage, I decided I'd try some too; so I went digging into my stash of sewing materials and found some scraps that were perfect to experiment with.  Of course, unlike many of you, I didn't use any pattern or trace any cuts or use any kind schematic, I just cut my material into circles, cut out some random petals (or not), and then burned them.  Some of them got a bit scorced but I decided I liked it -- gave them some character!  Here are a few I managed to come up with that I was satisfied with:

Now they may not look as great as some of yours, but I'm actually pleased with them as they're the first ones I've done.  With time, I hope to get better.  But, in the meantime, let me know what you think.

Of course I didn't just stop there!  I looked at several scraps of paper, some tissue, and a strip of gold lame ribbon and decided to make flowers with them too.  And, here they are:

Well, I guess you'll be seeing all of these on upcoming projects -- if you recognize them!  I'll definitely be using them on something!

Other than mentioning you have until 8 p.m. c.t. tomorrow to get your projects registered with Mr. Linky for Showcase #10, that's it for now.

I'll be seeing you!

P.S.  Oh, I forgot to mention this to you several days ago.  I'd been pretty concerned about Cindy McVey's absence (Crazy for Crafting Blogspot) and I'm relieved to say she's okay.  I finally got a brief message from her that she's been extremely busy with both personal and particularly work-related matters.  She hopes to be back as soon as possible.  She wanted me to tell you she misses us all terribly, and to thank you all for all the well-wishes left on her blog. She sends love!
