HERE I AM AGAIN WITH A "RECYCLED" GIFT PROJECT TO SHARE!!!

I told you I'd be back with another project to share! And, wow, doesn't it scream wedding or anniversary?  Of course,, I don't know of anyone celebrating either of these occasions right now!  Second question, can you guess what two (2) items I used as recycle items for this project?  Yes, I'm going to tell you but isn't it pretty?  Oops, that's another question!!!  LOL!

So are you ready for the answer?

The gift box was made from an empty ribbon spool ( a really large one).  First I spray painted the spool gold; next I sprayed it with spray glue and sprinkled tiny glass beads all over the spool; then I sprayed it again and sprnkled glitter on the box.

For the box lid, I used an old CD.  I repeated the process of spraying the CD with paint, glue, and adorning it with a bow made from some leftover ribbon and attached some old beads.  The cap on top of the lid is from an empty perfume botttle.

For the matching card I used strips of gold metal paper and added narrow strips of double-sided tape on top of the paper strips and sprinkled on some of the glass beads and some glitter; I  added a bow from the remainder of the ribbon and finally another set the beads.  And, WALA!!!  A matching gift set made entirely of scraps!

Just to show you it's really a used ribbon spool and CD, here's a picture.  I didn't complete the inside of the box or the bottom of the lid because I wanted you to see it for what it is:

I really like how this came out and I'm going to finish it up, in case I have a need for it soon!  I hope you like it too!

Before I leave, I'd like to remind you to get your craft projects registered into Mr. Linky before 8 p.m. (CT) on tomorrow, Friday, May 14.

Well, that's all for now...

I'll be seeing you!

This is gorgeous!!! Thanks for the sweet comment you left on my blog earlier! I don't think my card meets your challenge? It has a flower on it but my colors are red, blue & yellow. Let me know what you think and if you think it will go with just the flower I will enter it into your challenge! Thanks, Leanne

Oops! Your going to think I'm crazy!! It was Lori that left a message on my blog and told me to come enter the challenge! But if you get a chance and want to check my card out on my blog I will enter it if you think it meets the challenge!!

Thank you all for your wonderful comments!!! I am so glad you liked it.

Leanne, if you think I think you're going crazy, do you see the post above I deleted? Well, that was me responding to you as though I had left you that message instead of Lori -- LOL! When I read your comment, I just assumed I'd left you a message. When I saw your "oops" email saying Lori had left you the message, I hightailed it back here to remove my response! LOL!!! Didn't want to mistakenly take any credit for Lori's faithful and hard work with the showcases; she's a real sweetie.
So now I'm ROTFL because I guess we both must think the other is crazy!!! LOL!!!
