A BLOG AWARD AND A CARD PROJECT

THIS POST HAS BEEN UPDATED!!!  I APOLOGIZE IF YOU RECENTLY VISITED AND/OR VISITED AND COULD NOT ACCESS THIS PAGE DUE MY EDITING!!!

Hello, everyone!  As always I wish you all well!  My ear is still bothering me, especially when I swallow, though not as much.  I do expect the antibiotics will kick in soon though.  However, on a good note, I had a wonderful night's sleep!!!  As a matter of fact, I overslept and I haven't done that in a long time!  Maybe the meds are already kicking in, huh?

Very recently I acquired a new friend, Erika, and she has just passed on to me another "Sweet Blogger" award:

As Erika is such a very new friend, I am extremely honored that this talented, sweet lady thought enough to want me to accept this award.  Erika is fairly new to our blogging neighborhood and already has been recognized for her talent as she will be joining the Family Friday design team.  Please visit with my friend and show her some love by clicking on her name captioned above.

Now I'm to pass this award on, and I'd like to pass it on to three (3) other new friends blogs who are gifted and who can use some love from us:  Carol,  CreativeHayes, and Tanya.  Please visit my new friends in your spare time.  Just cllick on their names to be directed to their blogs to admire their creativity.

I was suppose to pass this award on to, I believe, 5 bloggers; however, as always the others are reserved for all my talented and creative friends -- please feel free to grab one!

This is the card project I have to share today and somewhere on it there's a bit of aluminum foil:

Can you spot the aluminum foil on this card?  I've been wanting to play and emboss on plain ole aluminum foil for a while, so I decided I'd use just a small piece for starters to see how it came out, and I like the effect!  Of course you have to be very careful with it because it tears very easily.  I used no rhyme or reason when I made this card, it was just something I put together while thinking on something else, but I really like how it turned out!

Did you guess the something else I was thinking on was what the heck to do with this Enamel Accents stuff I bought yesterday?!!!

If so, you guessed right!  So, where is my project using this?  Honestly, I sat staring at this stuff last evening for hours, willing an idea to pop into my head and nothing did, so I put it aside and moved on to my card.  This afternoon, of course, I'm back to staring and working up an idea, so I'll be back with... something, lol!!!

Erika, thanks again!  And I hope everyone visits my new friends!

I'll be seeing you!

P.S.  Oh-oh, it looks like all of a sudden I'm stuck on black and white!!!  Have you noticed?  LOL!

You are so cute Audrey. I am so glad to hear you got a good night sleep and slept in, you needed it. I clicked on your card to see where the aluminum foil is, I am not sure if I see it or not. But what a beautiful card, I love the look of black and white, I always think it looks so elegant. Congrats on your award. (thank you for you sweet comment on my halloween card) hugs

Thank you all, I always appreciate you stopping by and taking the time to comment.

Jen, I did purchase the enamel from Michael's. I think it's a fairly new product and so I'm surprised my Michael's even had it. Just keep looking at Michaels they'll probably have it soon. Or, you can Google it to see if you can order it. Hope this helps!

You did a beautiful job on this card! At first glance, it reminds me of a beautiful Christmas card. With the swirly background, the cardinal the red, white, and silver. Just beautiful! Glad to hear that the meds are kickin in! You'll start feeling really much better in a few more days. Take good care of yourself. And OH, BTW, in answer to your question about my Mom's dog. Yes, it is a Shih Tzu named Chunk! LOL he weighs about 18 pounds and is the center of my Mom's world. My 110# boys love the little guy! As a matter of fact we just got in from having a walk with Mom & Chunk. Anyway, take care! Best, Curt

Hi Audrey
Love black and white - very striking. Thanks for stopping my - the ribbon on my card is actually Offray wired ribbon probably used in flowers or arrangements. I got it at a thrift store for 39 cents!!! and when I was poking through my shoe boxes and shoe boxes of ribbon wheels, I had this in my hand to move it out of the way - and thought - wow this is perfect!

Spotted the foil, no problem-o; however, I'm wondering what you used on that gorgeous bird. Is it the enamel accents? Regardless --- beautiful! TFS!

Beautiful card, Audrey! I've never tried embossing foil. Maybe the heavy duty stuff would be less fragile. I think I have some of that stuff too. It may even be 2 years old and I've never used it either! Looking forward to some inspiration. xxD
