HAPPY MONDAY!!!

Good Monday morning, everyone!!!

I'm looking like I might have picked up a few more followers, and I'd like to say "Welcome:!!!  I'm so very happy to have you, and thank you for becoming a part of our family!

Thanks to all of you who sent me birthday and get-well wishes!!!  I appreciate you thinking of me!

Well, it appears I may have misdiagnosed myself.  It's probable it's not my blood pressure that was causing my headaches and nauseousness because, whatever the matter is, it has developed and progressed into a full-fledge ear ache which is driving me crazy; every time I swallow; feelsl like pins and needles are jabbing me in my ear.  Upon the DH's insistence Ive called my doctor and I have an appointment for tomorrow morning.

Despite not feeling my best, my family went out their way to give me a beauful birthday and no matter how lousy I've felt these last few days, it can't take away the wonderful time I had this weekend -- I just hope I didn't pass anything on to anyone!  My weekend ended with them taking me riverboat gambling where I won about $50!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!  I guess my winning streak is still with me!!!  LOL!

I did manage to start a couple of projects and got one completed.  This candy-card reminded me of a  small "two-fer" candy-card box I designed and did a cut.file for for Valentine's day earlier this year.  I called it a "two-fer" becaudse it is made of  one (1) sheet of paper; however, this is one I lifted and although I put my own spin on it it's in 2 parts -- a box is attached to the card:

If you enlarge the picture, the embellishment of the front reads "thank you for being you" and was made using the UTEE (ultra thick embossing powder) technique -- yep! I'm back to playing with this stuff again!

Here is the inside of the card and a picture of the candy box opened:

I hope you like it and that it inspires you to do something wonderful!

Before I leave I must thank my friend Wendy.  Referring back to my winning streak, I won this blog candy from Wendy a week or so ago, and I received it Saturday:

Wendy is another gifted "artist" you'll enjoy visiting if you aren't already familiar with her.  And, if you look closely at my candy box project for today, you'll see I actually used the little bird that was included in the set with my blog candy!  Thanks, again, Wendy!

Well, I've still got some recouperating to do and a LOT of catching up, so I'll be with all you as soon as I can.

Hugs...

I am glad to hear that you are going to the doctor tomorrow. You just lay back and relax, don't worry about anything but YOU today.

You are definitely on a winning streak. How fun that your family took you to "riverboat gambling"... sounds like you had a wonderful birthday even though you weren't feeling well.

AND of course I loved your project. hugs

Audrey, Love your candy card!! Glad you had a good birthday, but sorry you are still not feeling well. Ear aches can be horrible. Hopefully you can get to feeling better after seeing the doctor tomorrow.

Thank you all for your comments!!!

Lola, I didn't do a cut.file or anything for this. All I did was use a full size 8.50 x 11 sheet of paper to make a card, measured and made the box to size of the card. However, if a cut.file would be useful to you (or any of you), please let me know and I'll make you one. Also, please let me know if you have either the George and or Plantin carts -- I usually use these for the general shapes.

I'm so sorry I missed your birthday!!!! I hope it was happy (sure sounded like it was). I was excited to see you like a little gambling too. I LOVE to play video poker here in the Indiana casinos. So much fun! I won over $1,100 playing video poker the last time I was there! I do hope your ear thing isn't serious and that you get over it soon. Best, Curt
